“The church must be reminded that it is not the master or the servant of the state, but rather the conscience of the state. It must be the guide and the critic of the state, and never its tool. If the church does not recapture its prophetic zeal, it will become an irrelevant social club without moral or spiritual authority.”

Martin Luther King Jr (1929 – 1968)

The Church in the western world must return to the prophetic proclamation of the gospel of the Kingdom. Money is an idol in many churches today. The fear of man is causing many to retreat from proclaiming the truth against a rebellious culture. But before we proclaim the truth to others, we must repent of our own sins.

To be pro-traditional family and pro-life does not mean you hate those who disagree with you. Actually true followers of Jesus hold these views, out of love for their neighbors. Speaking the truth in love, got John the Baptist and Jesus (who is the head of the Church) killed. Speaking and standing for the truth will cost you. For some, in nations that are hostile to the gospel, it cost them imprisonment and even their lives. In America it may only cost you, your job and reputation.

God has called all Christians to be wise in this present evil age, but to be bold in proclaiming the truth. It’s time to head the words of Dr. King and recapture our prophetic zeal, or we will become irrelevant.
